In January 2003, ScottishPower identified a need for a flexible IT solution to enable them to enter an Affinity deal partnership with Lloyds TSB.

Bridgeall were selected by ScottishPower for their ability to implement the required solution to the extremely tight deadlines that were being set by LloydsTSB.

The solution adopted by ScottishPower was Bridgeall’s Gas Supplier Gateway-SPA (GS Gateway-SPA). The product allowed ScottishPower to implement a single application solution that supported all gas GT networks seamlessly, interfacing with the LTSB registration and billing systems using UK Link formats, regardless of the GT network on which meter points resided.

The flexible and powerful flow translation facilities, a key part of the Bridgeall Gateway platform, was a specific requirement for LTSB customer billing activities, and a key factor in ScottishPower’s decision to select the GS Gateway product.

The Gateway platform was configured by Bridgeall to support the user entry screens required for manual processes, and all of the reporting that ScottishPower needed to effectively control its affinity portfolio.

The solution was implemented in April 2003, and the product went on to register in excess of 150,000 customers over the next 4 years, handling in excess of 4 million data flows.

In 2004 with the forthcoming introduction of competitive gas metering (known as RGMA), ScottishPower introduced a further 2 GS Gateway products from Bridgeall's GS Gateway suite.

The GS Gateway-MRA product was implemented fully integrated with the Gateway-SPA, enabling for the first time in the industry, all National Grid and IGT meter points to be handled seamlessly together, using the single standard Proteus format for Meter Reading administration activities.

ScottishPower then introduced the GS Gateway-MA product, which specifically targets RGMA processes, providing an extremely cost effective but efficient, powerful and flexible solution for managing meter points within the LTSB affinity portfolio.

All of the Bridgeall products were delivered on time, within budget, and with a reliable, robust, platform to enable future change to be managed cost effectively, and rapidly when required.

Indeed the ability of Bridgeall to exploit the full power of the Gateway platform for rapid business and data flow process generation gave ScottishPower the opportunity to further develop the end to end business process with LTSB, introducing further efficiencies and cost savings.
